Art and Seek treasure hunt, 1 August

Pangolin's Ark hope to raise awareness of waste and sustainability but in a creative, engaging, hands-on way. They believe this approach will make children, and adults, think more carefully about their level of consumption and the effect it has on the environment.

Their first independent event of the year is a treasure hunt, with a difference, in Clissold Park and Abney Park Cemetery... the difference being that it is envionmentally themed. Art and Seek is going to be held on 1 August from noon - 7pm.

They are working with a number of local artists who will be located around the parks - they will either be demonstrating their practice or holding a workshop. As well as artists hidden around the park (and no doubt some crazy installations!), they will have a music system powered by a bicycle and some independent foodies selling some tasty delights. 'Treasure maps' for Art and Seek will be distributed around local shops, libraries and community centres.

The event is free, as they believe that people shouldn't be excluded because of financial deprivation, especially when the issues of waste and sustainability are involved.

Maps will be available from Stoke Newington Library, Abney Park Trust Office, Fresh and Wild Wholefoods Shop, Olive Loves Alfie and other local shops.
